Barrel threading: better performance and better accuracy
We are based in Kharkiv and work across the whole of Ukraine, providing professional barrel threading for firearms. Our work modernises the weapon and makes it possible to fit a range of muzzle devices — from suppressors to compensators and muzzle brakes.
What threading is for
A muzzle thread on the barrel brings several benefits to a firearm. First, it lets you attach different devices — flash hiders, muzzle brakes, compensators and suppressors — so the shooter can set the weapon up for any conditions. Second, a thread cut correctly keeps the barrel and the fitted device precisely aligned, avoiding any misalignment, which in turn helps bullet stability and accuracy.
Price and scope of work
The base price for barrel threading is UAH 4,000. That covers all the work involved, plus a protective thread cap made to keep the thread from being damaged.
The most common requests:
- Removing the M24x1.5 front sight on an AK-74 and cutting a 1/2″-28 UNEF thread on the barrel
- Relocating the front sight and cutting a thread on rimfire carbines
- Threading the Polish Grot carbine
How to order barrel threading
Once you have decided to have your barrel threaded, the next step is simple: get in touch with our manager and send us the barrel together with a copy of your permit. We work across the whole of Ukraine, so you can use our services wherever you are. Our team of skilled machinists starts work as soon as the barrel arrives.
The lathe and modern tooling
The process begins by centring the barrel on a modern lathe. Purpose-made brass mandrels hold the barrel in the machine, which keeps both the barrel and the rifling from being damaged. That is what makes the thread accurate and leaves the weapon’s original characteristics intact.
