Tihon titanium suppressors for Kalashnikov-pattern rifles: the AK-74, AKS-74U and AK-12 in 5.45×39 and the AKM in 7.62×39. Made in-house, from compact 130–140 mm models to integrated 250–270 mm ones.

How to choose

  • Calibre. The AK-74 and AKS-74U fire 5.45×39 and the AKM fires 7.62×39, so they need different suppressors. Each model’s calibre is in the table below.
  • Thread. The AK-74 and AKS-74U have an M24×1.5 muzzle thread, the AKM has M14×1 left-hand. Pick the thread in the product options.
  • Length. The shortest are the MARA Compact S and Oberig Compact M: 130–140 mm, 280–330 g. Full-size models are 175–220 mm. Over-barrel integrated models (Integra) are 250–270 mm, but 100 mm of that sits over the barrel, so they extend only 150–170 mm past the muzzle.
  • Integrated on an AK. Fitting one to any AK means removing the front sight and cutting a thread on the barrel. We do this in our workshop in Kharkiv — see muzzle threading.
  • Sound reduction. From −28 dB on the PBS Titan XL to −38 dB on the MARA L INTEGRA and Oberig XL-Integra.
  • Gas relief. Almost every model has a gas relief system.
  • Quick-detach. The MARA L FAST mounts QD.

FAQ

Which suppressors fit the AKS-74U?

The same as for the AK-74: M24×1.5 thread. There is a dedicated Vihor AKS-74U CRC; the shortest is the MARA Compact S (130 mm).

Is there a suppressor for the AKM?

Yes, the 7.62×39 models in the table. Choose the M14×1 left-hand thread in the product options.

Is there a suppressor for the AK-12?

Yes, the Oberig XL AK-12.

Will one suppressor fit both the AK-74 and the AKM?

No. The AK-74 and AKS-74U are 5.45×39 with an M24×1.5 thread; the AKM is 7.62×39 with an M14×1 left-hand thread. Even for models listing both calibres in the table, you choose the calibre in the product options.

Can an integrated suppressor go on an AK?

Yes. It slides 100 mm over the barrel, so a 260 mm MARA L INTEGRA extends only 160 mm past the muzzle. The front sight has to come off and the barrel needs a thread — we do both in Kharkiv. More in our article on integrated suppressors.
